Small joys
Hello Friends!
Today I am reflecting on the small joys and gratitudes that bring our lives beauty and meaning even in the midst of difficulty. Connections with strangers, visits with dear friends, generosity of family, blooms of spring flowers, the warmth of the sun on our skin, and the fact that we are alive another day. So much of our lives is spent in default mode, just going through the motions day after day. Pausing to appreciate all that is can help balance the perspective we see and hear in the news. While our brains are wired to look for danger, practicing looking for the good, the kind, and the generous can bring a sense of ease in all the turmoil of the world.
Tomorrow is the Spring Equinox shifting us into a new season of possibilities. Coming on the heels of yesterday’s Pisces New Moon and the start of a new astrological year, opportunities for beginnings and next steps are at the forefront. As has been the theme for much of the last few months, letting go of the things that no longer serve us and making room for what is to come is the energy present this week. Sometimes these are small shifts and sometimes they are dramatic life changing alterations. Whatever is happening for you, please remember to be gentle with yourself as you go through the process of sprouting and blooming this spring.

Next weekend I will be hosting an in person Spring Renewal Afternoon Retreat - March 28 from 3-5 PM at Harmonist Sanctuary. It is an opportunity for personal rest and reflection as well as time to gather together to send the energy of peace and lovingkindness into the world. I would be honored for you to join me.

REGISTRATION OPEN! I will be offering the Short Course in Mindful Self-Compassion this spring. SCMSC is a 6 week adaptation of the full MSC course where you will learn to use the skills of mindfulness to develop the inner resource of self-compassion and enhance your capacity for emotional wellbeing. Tuesdays May 5 - June 9, 6-7:30 PM via Zoom.
